I carry them for 18 WEEKS and they won't pay a $35.00 late fee. This is the replied I received after invoicing for late fee.

Did you outline all of your fee's in writting when you took on this work? Because if you did not give him or any company a list of fee's you have no right to charge anything extra only the agree fee after time of service.

Good companies have a detail confirmation show signing fee, deductions, and no sign fees.



If it went to court the fee would be thrown out for the above reason.

Give it up and be happy you got paid.

I have refused work from Speedy because I know how very slow they pay, if at all. However, while I do not always expect to collect late payment penalties from most of these slow pay SS & TC companies, I do send them an invoice with the following language highlighted at the bottom of every invoice, "Total invoice amount must be received by due date. Outstanding balances are subject to late charges (1% monthly/ 12% annual)."

If I do have to take these no payers to court, I will sue for balance due and all accrued interest. Knock on wood...it has only happened once, but I did have to take an old client to small claims once and I collected balance, court fees, and late fees.

I did one job for Frank, and he paid on time.
Then 2 more and I had to hound him, finally got paid.
The 4th job I did for him was my last. Continual lies about sending my check to the wrong address.
Frank is a lying sack of doodoo, preying on new notaries.
