Texas Closing Agents in Austin Texas

Has anyone worked with Texas Closing Agents before and if so I need some feedback. Had a late, last minute booking from them yesterday and am a little wary of continuing the promised amount of business they are offering. just sounds too good to be true.

It looks like they have the same phone number as:

North Star Lending
Mario Acosta
[e-mail address]
786-218-1473
fax 954-843-7079

So, this person WAS lender or is a lender.

Yet, wants to run an SS. Yet another interesting story.

The phone number listed on the web site is a Miami exchange, presumably ported to Austin. The fax number is out of Phoenix, also presumably ported. The website is pretty minimal, with no individuals named, and the home page is not operative. Not sure what it says about a business that opens with two out-of-town phone numbers.

Looks very much like a startup with minimal resources. I wish them the best of luck -- Austin has the best real estate market in the country -- but it looks like some luck may be required.

The deal is "they use only one notary per county, docs are not date sensitive and closings can be scheduled by me over a 3 day period of time. They pay after 10 days, no hand holding and no fax backs. Must provide commission proof, w9, copy of drivers license, nna background check and error and ommissions." The pay is much higher than normal because " the middleman is eliminated". The last minute closing i had was a BOA va refinance and docs were the usual. All the closings will be BOA's and BOA rep is supposed to call me today and "welcome me". If all this pans out as true, I was told to expect about 70 closings a month. HELLO! YIPPEE, and gosh, can this really be true?
I appreciate everyone replying.

70 closings a month?

My local national TC does not close 70 a month and if true that's a gold mine for you. BTW what county are you in?

yeah..I'd REALLY look this over carefully

If it's true...that's great...

3-day window to close at your convenience? Since when?

NNA BGC, copy of DL...hrrmm

Keep in mind also that you, in TX, have additional guidelines/requirements you must meet (ie. some need to be closed in attorney/title office; copies of SIGNED docs to be provided [I believe])...

Good luck..hope this works out - just keep eyes and ears wide open...

Good luck..better think in-terms of having strong back-up facilities..printers, paper, toner auto..and I hope you will be covering a small county. I could never commit to something that big, Oh wait, some do and then farm out to "other" notaries...???

i am just going to wait and see if all this pans out and they pay as stated and on time. i really doubt the 70 closings a month too but maybe he meant he had a total of 70 with all his closings total? time will tell.

He called me yesterday he only pays $75.

He promised me an enitre county, blah blah. Said he got my name from the title company. He also described himself as a "bottom feeder" when I asked what he was paying.

Re: He called me yesterday he only pays $75.

From his website:

OFFSITE CLOSING NOTARY SERVICE AND COURIER SERVICE.

- First Set Of Loan Documents $125.00 -$175.00

- Second Set Of Loan Documents $50.00

- Two Destinations for Same Closing $50.00

I assume that's what he's charging his clients. At those fees to clients, that does indeed render him a "bottom feeder" with respect to what he pays notaries. In retrospect, I might have been too charitable. What level is below "bottom feeder?"

And what does he do if an attorney office or TC office

is required? Did he explain that or is that additional cost part of the $75?
