The Closing Group - word to the wise
These scumbags called me for a closing yesterday. They agreed to my fee and said they would email over the confirmation.
A couple of hours later I called to say I haven't received the confirmation and am told that they will send it over in a short while. Never comes, so I email them. The response I get is some crytic thing that doesn't even make any sense. Of course by this time, I realize what is going on.
My beef is, why can't peole just have the decency to tell you that they found somebody else, or that the signing is cancelled, or something?? I turned another signing down for the same time because I had already committed to these jerks!

unfortunately this happens much more than it should
and I'm not defending them
but I took a signing from them and they paid within 30 days...........so...........
I agree with you that they should have called you and told you they found somebody
else. And, I've had it happen where that is the case.
And, I have been in your shoes where I lost one because of such action...but......
unfortunately...when you deal with humans that's what you get.

I agree....it does happen fairly often. That's why I will call & email the company to follow up. If I don't have a confirmation in an hour, I take the job off my schedule. It shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to shoot over a confirmation, but they can get lost in cyberspace.
As for The Closing Group, my last doings with them weren't good. Getting paid took quite a long time (well over 60 days) so if they are paying within 30 days, they've changed. They called me last month and I didn't even answer the call.

Sorry for the bad experience Roadie, I feel the same way. If I don't get a Confirmation within 15 - 20 mins I naturally assume it's not going to happen and move on. Remember if they call and leave us a message, they don't even wait for your call back before they'll contact another. Try not to worry about that....now getting the confirmation and waiting for Docs is another issue...LOL

I did a couple of signings for them a few months back & was
paid promptly (less than 30 days).
