Update on Notary Fraud thread Msg #363472

I emailed one of the journalists and asked if he checked out the other three notary's with the same name
Here is his reponse

"We have all of their signatures, none match. And only one has the same expiration date.

And finally, the circulator says the notary was a black man, not the Hispanic woman whose named.

We do do our homework."

I was called for one of these petition notarizations....

The appointment was to take place at a South East Chicago highrise. I always send out a contract and payment made up front, but I got nothing. I called and called and got no response. So I finally cancelled, 2 hours before the appt. Then 20 minutes into the appt, someone sends me a text message, asking me where I am. I replied that I cancelled the appointment, and that I called, left a vm, and sent an email, but apparently they didn't get the messages...oh well....

I think I dodged a bullet anyway.

Glad to hear it was investigated.

... and the circulator didn't think a man named Maricela was questionable ???
