Urban hazards..Did a free signing today.

Good SS asked for a favor,...drive to San Francisco ($6 toll) park on a residential street with a line of cars front and back. (Vandals had removed No Parking signs) we all got $55 tickets. Plus gas and expenses and two Alexander Martinis (stress reduction) = 1 free signing.....and I said I was taking the rest of the year off.

Please be my guest, let me have it so I'll feel better. LOL

No way to contest the parking tickets?

I got one in New Orleans at Mardi Gras and I took a picture of my car with the ticket on it (no signs to be seen in my case either) and I sent it in to the city. It did no good and I was found guilty, because there was a law that I was not familiar with, but I wonder about other cities?

Ignorance of the law is no excuse or, "we need the money so pay up"! Smile

HAHAHAHA! Not laughing at you but at the system. . Street signs are being stolen for scrap metal recycling. I learned this from SWAT team guy in Ocala FL, it is a national trend. It's a new job! replacing all the jobs we're losing here in the US.

I would have indulged myself with a glass of wine myself if this had happened to me! Better days ahead!

Re: Urban hazards. Bet that is counted as FOUR new jobs ....

created: the thief, the recycler, whomever makes the replacement sign, and the installer !!

SF traffic

James, I was in SF last Friday, Market and Geary (Union Square) to pick up my daughter from her holiday party. Oh my gosh, the traffic was bumper to bumper and took me about 20 minutes to move a block. Nerve-wracking to say the least. My heart goes out to all you SA's that have to deal with these types of circumstances on a daily basis. I don't think you could pay me enough. My nerves would be frazzled and I'd be, as you said, "stressing reducing" way too often.

Re: SF traffic

that really sucks James, this is why I always charge a premium to do a SF signing. Some of these SS's don't understand what we have to face!
