What's a nice way ...
... to tell a SS (or two) with which I have done alot of business over the years that I don't want them to call me anymore. I can't say I'm out of the business because they will probably know sooner or later that I'm still an active loan signer, not to mention that I still have my premier membership on NR and the numbers place. The reason is that I'm cutting back and somebody's gotta go.

I think stating just that is enough. It's a reason and it's honest. Also, I think giving them the contact info of some reputable people in your area (if you know some that you trust and recommend) would be helpful and appreciated.

Be honest... just tell them that you want to be removed from their database because you're reorganizing some of your business priorities.

Increase your fees. No, seriously, increase your fees.
It would be a win-win for you. If they agreed to pay the new fees then you win and can cut out jobs that offer less. If they don't, then they won't call. You are still in business and there would be no need for them to feel as though you were cutting them off.
Our costs have been going up while the offers have gone down over the last few years.
One way to reduce the demand on your time is to increase your fees (at least to the companies that you want to cut back on). Let the market take care of reducing the number of calls while at the same time allowing you the chance to make more money serving the customers you want to serve and are willing to pay for YOUR service.

My thoughts exactly
If they're paying you $100, tell them you need to raise your fee to $125 to cover increasing costs and expenses. If they agree, great, you get a raise. If they don't, mission accomplished. Win win.
