blank signature lines - anyone had this happen?

I had a borrower today that insisted on writing "n/a" on all the blank signature lines. This is the first time I have had anyone do this. I strongly discouraged her from doing it and that it could possibly hold up her loan. I told her that I would hate to have them re-sign everything because she wrote that on the documents. I am a little worried about it but she was pretty anal about it and said she has always done it that way.

I see no problem with that. I've had people draw big "X" thru blank area on the application and other docs to be sure nothing was added.

I'd drop an e-mail to the hiring party (with cc to title if

dealing with an SS) letting them know signing complete, package dropped and FYI borrower insisted on writing "n/a" in all blank signature lines despite your suggestion to the contrary - give them a heads-up as to what to expect to see when they open the package.

I had this happen to me since I started signing 6 years ago. There was no problem.

Once had a bwr who wanted to write "void" on the blank

signature lines. Told him that the TC/ lender might interpret this a voiding the entire document and thereby voiding the closing. Suggested that they might charge him a rederaw fees. or that rates might go up in the interim.
He then said that, ok , he would just write NA on the blainks.
I asked him if he was afraid that some unknown party might decide to add his name to the loan dox, and therby, possibly make themselves liable for his loan?
He said, " hey, I guess you're correct", and finished the signoing.

Never had one of my clients do it but I do it myself and so does my mother. Daddy did too.
