1St National Title LLC
I finally got someone to answer the phone at 1-866-503-8555 today. It was a company that was finishing paperwork for 1St National Title LLC. The lady told me that they are no longer in business so I know I'm out for the closing I completed for them and I bet there are others also. I just wanted to pass this on. Thank you.

You're going to call the state they are in and verify this?
Then speak with the department that handles these companies and ask about their bond? Or are you just going to write it off?

if you are going to go after their bond, do it before they declare bankruptcy. JMO I am not an attorney, blah, blah, blah.

Oz, regarding 1st Nat'l Title, I'm not sure if you have done this yet but you definitely need to contact the lender(s) involved in the closings you did. I contacted CitiMortgage (which happened to be the lender on both closings I did), and they went above and beyond providing me with contact names and numbers, and were very concerned that I was getting stiffed. They also told me that 1st National Title did NOT go out of business, they still are closing loans in their name (!) and they are merging with Advantage Title (also in MD). The lenders need to know what is going on and if they get enough calls about these jerks at 1st Nat'l, something will happen.
I did get paid and the check cleared. You can private message me if you want and I can pass on info if you hit a dead end.

I have 2 invoices outstanding from Dec 2009 as well. I did some research and found that the principal for 1st National Title is Ramona Snier, who has since moved to Freedom, PA and is the manager for Roundtable Title & Escrow in York, PA. I am posting the contact information I found for her in the event anyone else still waiting for payment would like it. I have left her messages today on both her home and cell phone.

I called this number today and got her voice mail. I left a message telling her that 1st National Title owes me $125 from a January closing, including the details. She called back after hours, and left an angry message on my voice mail. She said that she was only affiliated with 1st National Title as an employee. She also said that she only worked there for 6 months, and was laid off at the end of January when they went out of business.
That's interesting. The signing I did for them was January 30th, so I was one of their last suckers. She ended it with "STOP CALLING ME! 1ST NATIONAL TITLE IS OUT OF BUSINESS! STOP CALLING ME!!"
This was the first time I'd ever called her. She must be getting calls from other notaries who found this post. If she's telling the truth, it would have been nice of her to leave the name and number of the real owner.
