don't be fooled to believe that the 2010 RESPA changes require you to perform work for less than your typical fee because it violates the fee tolerance for what was intially quoted. unless your name was disclosed on the GFE as an "identified" closing agent, your fee is not subject to the 10% tolerance. the service you provide is a required service that the borrower has the right to shop for and your fee can change at settlement. most closing agents are independant contractors and have the right to impose our own fee structure.
