2nd round of the Blizzard of 2010
We have gotten pounded here in VA, DC and MD areas! For now the worst is over. I did perform one notarial act right before the 2nd round came through. How is the weather in your neck of the country. Please, someone talk about sunshine. Is there still such a thing as sunshine. I forgot what the sun looks like. LOL

I'm sorry for you people out east. Chicago was hit, but not as bad as you folks. I just can't imagine getting hit not once, but twice. OK sunshine people, send some sunshine! PLUS, we had an earthquake today!!! Yikes!!!!

We've had over a week of sunshine and are actually seeing big bare areas in our yards.

We dodged the big snow last weekend here on LI, but we're getting hit with this one... not a lot of snow (maybe 10"-12" so far where I am), but the blizzard conditions are making travel impossible. Hard to tell if all that white stuff in the air is new snow or just previous snow being blown around by the wind...
The sun WILL come out tomorrow...

We have received about 8 inches of snow since yesterday..Its still coming down in a fine mist. I had a closing tonight but only 2 miles away..We aren't afraid of this little amount in North East Ohio!

Please let the sun come out tomorrow! We are west of Phila and had about 20 inches on Saturday and today we are at about 15 inches! The snow on my deck is just about at my waist. I managed to take some pictures today but dread shoveling in the morning. I am supposed to be at my other job tomorrow at 7:45 am, somehow I don't see that happening. I was bummed though that earlier this afternoon I got a call to do a signing tomorrow evening, but I had to turn it down since I was not sure when I would get out of my driveway or when Gov Rendell is going to lift the state of emergency.

Re: Sending you some AZ Sunshine!
and they called off school here in southern IL for a measly 3 inches of snow on Tuesday. What whimps compared to what you all have had to endure.

ALOHA! It is sunny in Maui, Hawaii. It is always sunny here, though. :-) It was about 85 degrees today, sunny with slight trade winds. I don't even own a coat anymore....seriously. You should all come and visit Maui! I feel for all of you and please stay safe out there. Sending sunshine and ALOHA your way! :-)

Noisy ducks break the day; the wind naps -
Mistly pastels of dawn mirrored on the glassy lake, like animated impressionism, imperceptably morph into - that moring fire - - that blaze of dawn - when Old Sol greets the hard gray sea.
Those first beams- blinding shimmery diamonds- refracted on placid water- offer the first day's shadows: mallard wings' ascention into a new bright blue sky -
In an instant, the wind awakens, and yawns on the sun-filled morning.

Yes'm. It was my morning yesterday. Many
mornings here, out my windows, or down on the dock with a hot cuppa. Eagles fish sometimes, hugely winged and dramatic. The soft splashing of oars occasionally waft in the foggy air, and the mist disappears like magic.
The lake feeds the sea, and the gulls cry in the salty breeze before a storm.

Well, many of us suspected you were a writer... Now we know for sure!!! Have you had anything published yet?

Not with those typos. <grin> Beside the sea-lake, this
old tall house moves downward. Creeps with the gravity, so slightly, so constant.
Today, a new thing: the toilet runs in some precise intermittance - in waves - a mere component is askew; a seal is broken, like a promise.
There are eagles and toilets to hold my constant attention, and my words do justice to neither.
But I thank you for your notice, and support, and cheer.
I'm sure the eagles sleep, while the john complains loudly as gravity slurps out its fluids to the mysterious beat of some evil plumbing stopwatch.
G'nite all. Toasty dreams this dark winter's night. Old Sol will dispell the clouds soon, you'll see.

Sunny here too, but on the cool side (it's relative, I know)
Like Arizona, though, we have a warming trend coming up. Should hit highs of 75 this weekend and be in the low 70s most of next week per long term forecast.
It was beautiful driving around today; the mountains north of here and east of Los Angeles have more snow than I've seen in several years! My hat is off to those of you who manage in that awful weather! I wouldn't have a clue how to cope...
Stay safe, everyone!

Around the Pittsburgh area we had about 2 feet of snow over the weekend and another 7" or so through yesterday evening. We are predicted to have a snow free weekend with more snow forecast for Monday. Everything is relative though as our MD, DC and VA friends will testify. To all: be safe and warm.

Beautiful sunny day here in Minneapolis - unfortunately it was also below zero when I left home this morning. But the sun does make a huge difference for me.

Burried in PA
We are buried in East Coventry, PA. I’m not crying about it though because we did not lose power. Digging out is exhausting because you have to heave the snow up and over the big pile to keep it off the streets but I’ll survive. We had about 12” over the weekend and at least 26” yesterday. I’m dug out and drinking hot chocolate and waiting for the phone to ring. Feb. has been so slow!!! I hope it’s because the whole country has ground to a halt over weather and hoping it will spring back next week. Keep your chin up, East Coast, the sun will come out tomorrow!
