Docs, Docs and more Docs
So I finally get docs for a last minute closing. In hindsight it really wasn't so last minute at all when you take into account that at the end of the day this 12:00 closing actually closed at 8:00. Same day closing would have been more accurate if those involved would just be realistic. Makes one wonder if any TC and Lender has every actually gotten docs over in an hour just because an LO says so.
Anyway, I get the package. There are 7 attachments: Loan Docs. Replacement Loan Docs. Additional Loan Docs. Corrected Additional Loan docs. HUD, Title Docs, Instructions. I'm starting to feel like a janitor in this business.

Did you give them a deadline for receiving the docs...or did you just let them string you along and waste your entire day?
If a company calls at the last minute and the docs are not ready, I tell them I won't put them on my schedule until the docs are ready...and to call me. If I am still available, I will do it. There will be a substantial increase in fee, however.
I learned after a year or so in business, if you let a title company run your day, they certainly will....and with no increase in pay. And...what if it winds up not funding? Then they don't want to pay you at all.
I have many things I'd rather do that sit at the computer waiting on docs.

String me along? Not hardly. Been doing this too long for that nonsense. I had several other closings and donducted my day accordingly. It was eventually scheduled to meet my schedule.
Back to the actual ttopic..I received a bunch of corrected docs along with the original pkg. . Would have been nice if the TC had cleaned it all up instead of expecting me to do so. Hence thje janitor comment.
