Hi Pam, Your fees are based on what you feel you will need to make to cover expenses and your profit.
Can I ask you though, if you didnt know what you would be charging to do this, then why are you putting up a profile? You are self employeed doing this so this is usually treated as a business with a business plan which would include figuring out the fees you would be charging. You also have to figure out where you are going to travel to cause companies will call you to go to such and such and figure the fees for those destinations as well.
There is more to this than just becoming a notary, getting your seal, and waiting for the phone calls to come in. Are you equipped with all the office stuff you will need such as a fax machine, a laser printer, a cell phone, etc? Have you thought about marketing to companies and how you will accomplish that? If I were you, I would start here and do some searches for key phrases that relate to running this biz and also do a google search.
Also, last note, you dont have to do the fees part of the profile.
Good luck to you

Pam - you may want to use the orange search button to search for whatever you wish to know. For some great tips on running/starting this business look up and read the entire thread #33325. Everything you could possibly want to know is in that thread. If you just want to know about fees, search for 'fees'. Printers? "printers" will give you all kinds of options.
Do some reading/research - it is all here for you already. If you need something clarified, then ask referencing the message number to get the best responses.

Pam, are you in Texas or Alaska? Your profile has you in AK. If you are in Texas, then there are certain loans that must be closed in either a lawyer or title company office and that would affect the fees you charge. Spend some time using the search button on the first page, starting with message 33325 or the word "newbie". There is plenty of information for the person who is new to this forum.
