I HATE SNOW!!!
PA has declared a state of emergency and the National Guard has been called in. Lancaster County (where I am) has declared a proclamation of emergency … have no idea how that is different from a state of emergency. We measured 21 inches so far and it is still snowing, the most I have ever seen come down at one time here! We live 250 feet off a back road that is last to be plowed, so I guess we are snowed in for at least the weekend. Of course our snow blower is giving my husband problems, so it looks like there will be a lot of shoveling to be done. I am definitely ready to retire to Arizona!!!

I do too! That's why I don't live in Ohio anymore and moved back to Florida in 1985. Stay safe and keep warm, at least it will melt.

Re: I LOVE SNOW!!!
I love it! We don't get that much so it's cool when we do get it. The last few years we've hardly had any. I think the winter of 2003-2004 was the last really big snow we've gotten.
I do have a long driveway, though, and no snow blower! And with two kids away at college there are two less snow shovelers available to help!

An important tip to snow shovelers, or anyone else....
in cold weather for that matter. Be SURE to keep your gloves on no matter how warm you may feel during any exertion. A cardiologist once told me that the leading cause of heart attacks in cold country is when a person takes their gloves off because they are warm. He did a study at Cedars Sinai hospital and found when he dunked a patients hands into ice cold water he could cause them symptoms leading to a heart attack. So be aware, be safe!

Love the flakes. Whitely, quietly, packing away the fresh
water. saving it for the Spring Waters, the cleansing: Earth's bath.
The oceans are salty, and the fresh waters must equalize: the rivers must flow, the lakes must filter, the streams must be clean.
I see the snow as nature-preserved fresh water. Gather well, and preserve for the future. Water is the essence of life. And Fresh, pure water is a scarce resource.
