Insured Closings... $75 for e-docs???

They just called me for closing tomorrow. Are they serious? Does anyone work for this low of pay? I'm shocked.

Signing Pro called me a few days ago offering to pay the same thing. I told scheduler I charge XXX.XX. She said "it's only 60 pages". I responded it's still xxx.xx. She sounded upset and said "well, I'll have to call someone else"...

You still get what you pay for. Working for that low of a rate is like are crossing a picket line.

Charles did you really have to remind me of that? For some reason my mind interprets what I type as what I want to say…… UNTIL I post it and read it. Then the typos flower everywhere??

"business as a whole is so devalued now" totally agree!

and its those cheapo sa's that are doing it to us......they think they're getting 'bulk' work at $75 bucks a pop and are busy running all over town, devaluing themselves, but when they add up all the costs it takes to run a biz like this, and try to make some income or even a profit (ha I know), they'll wise up...at least I still have some hope they will..... =(

Good for you Frenchie! If more would do that they would only

call with reasonable offers. I have several of the companies branded a "low ball company" call me. It took some time, but now when they call they meet my fees if they want me to do the job. Some of them don't even attempt to get me to accept a lower fee any longer. I have told a few of the ones that still do, that if they continue to call me with lower fees, I would increase my fees for them when they call. They have a note field in my profile and should have already posted my normal fees.

If I'm going to be a "last resort" SA for them (only one or two loans a month) when they can't get their regular "$100 with edoc" (or less) signers to do the job I don't feel bad charging them more. It's not like I'm at risk of loosing a good company relationship.

I could accept the lower fees, but why should I? I have more time off, less travel, less wear and tare on my car, lower overhead (gas/ink/paper) and I bring in the same money or more. When SA's work for a less than reasonable fees, they must do 40-50% more jobs to bring in the same money. That's 40-50% more responsibility and risk, more overhead costs, and less free time to earn more money. IMHO

Great example of why volume discounts don't make sense

"That's 40-50% more responsibility and risk, more overhead costs, and less free time to earn more money."

SS owners and schedulers dont't understand why we won't do their signings for $75 when they are offering us "all the closings in your area." If the signers travelled to me with documents in hand, I might agree to that. Otherwise it does not make sense, from a profit standpoint.

Signing Pro called me last week with the same offer. 60 pages, they pay $75. I gave them my fee of $110.

Do they think 60 pages is a small package? 70 to 80 is a normal package, so 60 is just a little bit under normal. To me, a small package is 25 pages or less. I would consider a 25-page edoc signing for $75, but not a 60 page package.

Of course, Signing Pro is the company that pays $105 for a RM.

How can you be shocked?

This exact same thread is repeated on this board almost every single day, only the company name changes.
