Just Curious about A Signing Service.
Can a Signing Service rate themselves in Signing Central? I have reason to believe that there may be a Signing Service that rates themselves with 5 stars and glowing comments after a low rating from a different NSA to counteract the low rating. “IF” this is happening it puts Signing Centrals integrity into question. Can NotRot check into this? They should know who left the ratings unless of course these are dummy accounts set up by the SS solely to rate themselves.
The reason I suspect this is because I had been reading on this board about a certain SS that people are having trouble getting paid from in a timely manner and ask the board for help. A lot of NSA’s responses are that you have to call them and they are slow to pay but they will pay.
The NSA’s that are having problems with this SS state that the SS has a great rating in Signing Central so they don’t know why they are having problems. I checked the ratings in SC because not only have I been waiting for payment on 2 outstanding invoices, 1 of which was completed in December, but also to let other NSA’s see that I’m experiencing the same things they are despite the high overall ratings. I rated them low w/ comments explaining why. Shortly after my ratings that same day there was a 5 star rating with glowing comments about being paid on time. Almost all of these great ratings are coming from NSA’s in the same state as the SS.
BTW, this SS has not always been so slow to pay according to all the consistent high ratings prior to the end of the 1st quarter in 2009.
I hope you all understand that I don’t want to post this SS name because I would feel horrible if I was wrong.
To me it just doesn’t make much sense that a SS that has such great ratings with comments about paying on time all the time and has just as many low ratings from NSA’s saying very slow pay and you have to remind them to pay every time. There are no ratings in the middle.
Maybe and hopefully I’m just too suspicious and don’t understand all of the technical components on NotRot.
I’m not trying to lead people to believe that NotRot is not a great board. This board has really helped me to be so much more successful in my business. I’m actually feeling a bit protective of the board and wanted to bring this out to see if any other NSA’s think this is possible and how they feel about it.

I don't imagine it would be too hard for a ss employee or owner to set up a separate account in a different name - or multiple dummy names - to counter a bad rating. But, while I understand your reticence, if you don't tell us who it is, no one will be able to provide any other specific feedback about that company. Just a thought.

You can get the best answer from Harry (contact us - bottom of page). Yes there is a lot of hanky panky going on I've noticed too but after a little homework you'll be able to figure out who they are.
Not everyone has the same experience so what could be a great SS for some could be the pits for someone else. Also there are just as many reasons for not getting paid. Obviously the more information provided the better opportunity for someone choosing to work for a SS or not.
hope that helps.

Glowing reviews amongst many negative reviews indicates (to me) that the glowing reviews were "shill" posts - particularly when the forum comments (via orange search) are negative.
