Kensington Title out of NYC g/b/ugly
I've read some negs dated in 2009 and before. Is anyone waiting for payment from this company? Any feedback will be appreciated.

I haven't worked for them in a couple of years, when I did they paid promptly, and met my fee.

I think Kensington might be using signing services now because of their reputation for late or non-payments. I worked directly for them in 2008 and it took them four months to pay. I closed a loan for a SS in FL last November and Kensington was the title company. I wasn't paid until January because Kensington was late paying them. If I hadn't sent a demand letter to the SS, who knows how long I'd have waited for payment.

I only did 1 for them probably over a year ago and it took months of phone calls, emails and letters before I got paid. That was a long time ago so maybe they have changed but once was enough for me. If they called me again I would not do it unless I was listed on the HUD.

Thank you all. Anyone else want to chime in? They offered a fair fee and I would like to accept, but right now I'm sitting on the fence.

If it takes you 3 to 6 months to collect your fee, would it still be fair?

They offered me a signing a couple of years ago. They said they don't give out their fedex account, so they would pay me $200 (instead of the $150 I requested) to cover the cost of my shipping the package on my dime. I said okay. I was on the road at the time; when I got home, I checked their reputation and it was not good. I was also advised by colleagues to never agree to pay for the shipping. (what if I don't get paid?)
So, I called them to tell them I would not be able to accept the job because of their prior payment issues...and of course, couldn't get through to anyone. I also NEVER GOT A CONFIRMATION...so had no details about the signing, the borrowers, nothing.
At about 6:40, (for a 7pm signing) I get an email with docs. The package was almost 200 pages. I am not kidding...a 194 page refinance.
I didn't print it. They called...I told them, I had never received a confirmation and that I had tried to let them know I was unavailable but they didn't answer or return my call. That was my one and only experience with them. Not impressive.

Re: Kensington Title out of NYC Thumbs Up from Notary in NY
Worked with Jeff Lender to agree to my terms period. He agreed and all went smoothly. I would work for them again. Speedy pay here.
