But you won't know how many notarizations you'll
have until you get the package - which is AFTER you've agreed to a fee...so does this mean after you get the agreed fee of $150 and there's 2 signers with 15 notarizations you call them and say "that'll be another $150"???...

Maybe this was tongue-in-cheek?
I'm thinking that it was possibly sarcasm, as in 'you can have it at $150, OR if that doesn't work for you, we can go with this ...'
I'm hoping it was sarcasm - otherwise, just let us know how that works for you!

I have a flat fee of $150; travel up to 25 miles ; no fax backs. It has been working very well for me so far. My regular clients still call.

With your state's requirements for a title producers license, I don't think it's a valid comparison. While I believe that makes good sense for you, that would never fly (from a ss, I should clarify) in many other areas - certainly not in mine!

Just finished my Schedule C for 2009 and found that I did not make $13 per hour after expense. Most clients expect my cost to be what most state charge that do not require TPL. Our bond here in Maryland increased 50%. It is hard to tell SS that it is not cost effective to work for $90 for edocs closings.
