It's a Brother HL5250. Any advice?

We called for maintenance once when our printer was squeaking. It turned out to be a squeaky cartridge. Did you just put a new one in.

I had a bother do this it was the wheels that run the paper out of the machine. There was nothing that I could do to stop it....mine was really loud and annoying. I had it replaced with a new machine with my Office Max warranty.

Just an FYI: if you buy your printers from Office Max and buy a warranty with them they will replace the printer with a new one. I have done this for the past 5 years and get a new one almost every year and a half b/c of volume printing on brother machines. The warranty is about $25.00 for 1 year after manufacture warranty expires. Not only do they give you a new printer they will let you upgrade and take the price you paid for the one that you are returning and give you credit toward a new more expensive model. I have found that they have some good sales when new models come out the old models go on clearance. I use bother printers b/c the consumables cheap, especially, from LD Products.

Re: Freudian slip? LOL

that is too funny....I guess so!!!! Yes printers can be bothers at the most inconvenient times. We all know how that goes....waiting on late edocs to finally get them and the printer gets jammed- either literally or from the download -and you need to shut down and restart the printer 50 times-for no apparent reason!!!

Re: WD-40

The great squeak eliminator. Kidding, couldnt resist. Hopefully no one will take this seriously and try it Smile

It was the drum. A little sewing machine oil temporarily fixed it til I get a new one.

It's the hamster wheel that turns the roller to move

the paper. Just squirt some knock-'er-loose on it, feed the hampster, and you're good to go.

(sorry - my fax machine made me do it.)
