NONE PAYMENTS

Dear fellow signing agents , we all know that we work for ourself and set our fees accordingly, but the problem lies with these companies that call you at last notice ( which should be a red flag for use SA'S ) but we go ahead and do the signing and God do we play
hell trying to collcet our said fee's / /////// well I have a solution, we as SA'S need to stay in touch with eachother better then we do to help one another as far as letting others know that some companies just don't pay after you have done the signing.

Well let me be the first to put my number out there to any one asking about said companies that plan on not paying 1-276-732-0672 , call i might be able to save you a headache and time spent on the computer trying to collect. best wishes to all

If you unlock your profile, then we'll be able to see ur

profie, including contact numbers.. IMO, this is the first way for those to stay in touch with you.

Now about saving us headaches about non-paying SS's, my advice to you, is to post those non-payers on this here forum, and rate them on SC, that helps us all out tremendously!

.....sort of why this forum was created....Smile

I don't accept last-minute closings from unknown-to-me companies. I did that when I was new and figured out that those are always the biggest PITA doc packages and also seem to be the most difficult to collect on. If an established client calls with a last-minute closing then I have no problem accepting.

I also check out all companies right here on NotRot. The search feature and the ratings in Signing Central are an invaluable tool for us and have saved me from having significant collection issues. I just received payment yesterday for my last open invoice for 2009.

It's difficult sometimes to turn down a job because it's human nature to want to take the job and make money and give the benefit of the doubt when you are getting some sob story, but I quit doing that years ago and I no longer have collection issues.

Another thing I do for each call I receive is enter a company name in caller ID. If that same "no-no" company calls me again in the future, I simply don't answer. Some people even assign a special ring to those numbers.

Joseph, so it's all about the money?

What your profile tells me, is that you care more about the money, than your fellow notaries.
You might as well have said:
"I don't care if your reputation precedes you, pay me first, up front". Money talks!

Why enable these lowlife companies to continue? If we would all just say no, they would go away sooner rather than later.

SheilaSJCA...no, it's not all about money, I believe that is the way you are looking at the issue.
The statement up front clearly says I'm going to check your company background in SC and if you have a bad rating and need my services, you will pay my fee up front...period. How you conduct your business offers is up to you. Why turn them down altogether if they agree to pay my fee $$$ up front. The choice is clearly theirs.... I would not cut my nose off to spite my face. Force the lowlife to pay up front and they will eventually get the message or go out of business if they refuse. And yes, I'm running my business to make money!!

I agree ,, This is why we're doing this in the first place ,, running a business , if you don't understand that , then why are in this business the first place. Some people are doing this as extra money. plz Joseph , Dont act like a pompus azz , not very professional

Personally, I don't know what you're talking about. Just because I use a tactic and make a business decision to make sure that I am paid for my services hardly makes me look like a pompus ass and not very professional. I was accused of not caring about my fellow Notaries and cleared the air on that issue. As I stated earlier, I pay my bills and you pay yours and that's it...period.

This site is my go-to best friend for feedback on

companies - we members go out of our way to make sure we post about low pay or slow pay companies, and the information is here for the taking in SC or in the search feature...we stay in touch VERY well - sometimes TOO well, if you were to ask some companies!!...Smile It's because of this site that I've only had a couple issues of non-payment in over 3 and a half years and one was my own fault for not listening to the advice here...

Post your comments in SC on each company and we'll all be able to see it at some future time when it's needed...

And I agree...link your profile.

If this post is any indication

of what we could expect in a collection letter you might send, then I'll pass, thank you.

Re: If this post is any indication

First of all , you have to understand that this is a place for us as SA's to express ourselfs and to help others ,, this is not the way a colloection letter would be sent out to any company ,, but please this is our way of saying to the NON PAYMENT companies that were tired of being treated like this.

We are all professionals and do our best to maintain , but everyone has had a NON PAY and you can't say that it doesn't just piss you off .
