NREIS
Anyone getting paid by them??

Reply by LisaWI on 2/5/10 11:56am Msg #321418
As of late there have been a couple posts about them paying alot longer than usual. I had one that was quite overdue but they did eventually pay. With the posts I have been reading lately, not sure if I will take any closings for them. Big red flag.

No more
They own me starting from the beginning of Dec.! I've been telling them no whenever they're called since the end of Jan., and as soon as I get paid for the ones I've done (I'm hopeful), I'm through with them. They never paid that great to begin with, but you could set your clock by their prompt checks. Now, they appear to be "under new management" and chaos seems to be the order of the day. There are recent NR posts about late/no payment - and having to call and beg for your money. So add them to PIA list.

All I can say is ...... remember EFS!
It seems alot of these companies start out the same..... Good fees, good to work with ..... pay on time ................... then they start squeezing us ..... cut your fee, more hand holding, longer pay schedule ............... we're reorganizing .......... having trouble with our new systems and procedures ...............................next thing you know ....... gone!

Maybe it's a good thing (for me) that they couldn't meet my fee!!

ENUFF
I called and actually talked to them about this. The person I spoke to was a complete B**** (and I say that in the nicest possible way) and gave me such a major runaround that my head is still spinning. She was good! They've got their schedulers, who are always charming, polite poeple, going full time - but if you want to actually get paid, that's were it all ends.

Re: ENUFF
I'm sorry that has happened to you. This is another reason to ask questions like how many schedulers there are for example, part-time or full-time. How long you've been working for them...etc. We really need to be able to screen who's calling. When I do this, I often get, "Do you want to work or ask questions?" Click! What, I wasn't finished asking questions.

this seems to work
I email the scheduler- they forward my inquiry to accounting- and amazingly the day they choose to respond is the day the check has been sent out. They are issuing these check right away and sitting on them for 30 to 40 days. This business is really starting to suck- A friend of mine said to me- this looks like an easy job. I said - once you walk out the door it is easy - it is the B>S> we have to put up with on the other end that is a pain!

I did a huge amount of work for them in November and December but haven't been paid on any of it. I did FINALLY get an email yesterday that a check had been sent, but I too won't be taking any more jobs. I have two here waiting to schedule--both with bad phone numbers for the borrowers. Sending those back to them to assign elsewhere today.
Major bummer, because I really enjoyed working with them--always prompt and got documents in time and the schedulers were very good.

This is a new one. They gave me dates and two check numbers that stated I was paid. I have no record of either one of the checks

I just turned down three more today from them--need 'em to come current on their bills and then I'll gladly take care of them. I did hear recently that the check was in the mail yesterday, but I've never had them pay multiple invoices on one check, so I'm going to wait until it clears before I take more work.

I, of course, fully support getting paid within a reasonable
time, and without hassle, BUT keep in mind that you have a 100% chance of not getting paid for a job that you turn down because you fear that you MIGHT not get paid. The above refers to all SS and TCs

Bob, I disagree totally. If a company cannot pay as agreed
and it is a prevalent issue with multiple SA's, by turning them down, you have a 100% chance of having an opportunity to accept a signing job from a company with a good record of paying it's people on time.
A one time slip up will happen to any company. But come on, when several people are telling you that a company is late, you accept the assignment at your own risk. If a new company calls me, I ask what their pay schedule is before I quote my fee. If they don't cut the check until 30 days after the job, they will receive a higher quote than one that pays Net15. The extra fees I charge are for waiting beyond a reasonable time for my pay and to cover my time if I need to contact them about my payment.
If they have a poor performance history in regards to payment on NR -- I will either charge a higher fee until they can prove otherwise or I decline flat out without even quoting my fees. The bottom line is that a lot of “good SS companies” are falling into the “bad” category lately and sometimes, we continue accepting jobs because we want to give them the benefit of the doubt. Once they start slow paying, very late paying or even not paying, by posting we are able to help others that may not have worked with them for years. IMO, once a company begins getting turned down by new SA’s; they may get the hint and take care of the SA’s they have left hanging.

Re: NREIS... bad signs on the horizon
I was told my check was cut December 15 but never mailed. I spoke to vendor management. Although he was sympathetic, it didn't seem like there was much that he could do. He said tons of notary's have been calling and complaining... so basically, no one is getting paid. The accounting department doesn't seem the least bit concerned that they're not paying anyone. I would highly discourage anyone to take work for them. Very sad, they used to be one of my best clients.

I have been paid with out any problems. I had one from early Jan that was due, when I resubmitted my invoice I was email that I would be paid for that one and two other more recent. And I was, right away.

Re: NREIS... bad signs on the horizon
I did two for NREIS in December that I got paid for the end of January. Did one in January and one today - hope I get paid! I don't think I'm interested in anymore from them either. It is getting harder and harder to collect. Still have two signings from other companies from December I'm waiting on. I should get paid eventually but it is so much work to try and collect. This business is getting very discouraging.

You all who are waiting on payment need to rate NREIS in Signing Central. There is only one current comment right now (from this month).

I have done several signings for NREIS and I have never had any problems with them. They have always paid 30 or so days. My experience with NREIS has always been pleasant. Someone mentioned being under new managment? They underwent managment changes back in I believe 2003 or 2004. Did they change again?

They used to pay within two weeks. I got in touch this past week about past due invoices from Dec. They let me know today that they mailed two checks for Dec. and Jan. yesterday. I should get the checks in a few days. I just don't feel like I should have to call them to get paid. I still have signings I've done in the past two weeks. I hope I don't have to jump through hoops to get paid for them. I'm thinking about declining further jobs. Sad but true. Plus I don't think they would have paid them if I hadn't called.
