Need recommendation -- Phone contact back up software

I usually sync my phone with Microsoft Outlook. Used to work pretty well untill one or the other decided to delete all or parts of contact info, I'm blaming this on Microsoft! I've tried export my contacts from Outlook into Excell and/csv files but that doesn't seem to do the trick either.

Can anyone recommend a good program so that I can back up my contacts safely?

You could try restoring your computer to a restore point before you lost the data. Sometimes it works for such data, sometimes not. It might be worth the try.

Doesn't your phone manufacturer provide software for backup or transferring data ? For example, Motorola has Phone Tools, I use to back up my Motorola through that. I changed to a Samsung smart phone and they have a program called PC studio and it does a good job with that. Look for a program on the website of the manufacturer of your phone.



Also, do you back up your computer either to an online service or a remote hard drive? Keeping my computer backed up has saved my bacon many times over the years.

Dashwire Phone backup....

....I was having a similar problem last year & discovered this on-line service --- dashwire.com --- that will back up your phone book contacts on line. It will back up other stuff from your phone, too & it has some settings so things can be made public, like for social networking stuff, if you wish. I just used it for saving my phone book, & I didn't pay much attention to the other capabilities it has. It doesn't work with all phones but it has a pretty extensive list of cell phones it will work on &, best of all, its free. I have since changed phones & don't use the service anymore but it still has my phone contacts on it saved.
