Now THIS is funny!!!
While typing the message below, I got an email from the NNA:
"Earn More with NSA Certification" "Are you ready to take advantage of a promising economy, historic low interest rates and new government–sponsored mortgage solutions? You will be when you renew as an NNA Certified Notary Signing Agent.
Act now and capitalize on today’s opportunities. Your 2–year Notary Signing Agent Certification Renewal includes:
NSA Certification Current Background Screening Priority SigningAgent.com Listing NNA Membership, 1–year — a $52 value NNA Notary Signing Agent Section Membership Career–Boosting Signing Agent Webinars And your NSA Certification renewal does NOT require retaking the certification course or a qualified exam. [IS THIS SOMETHING NEW?]
As the market recovers, the NSA Certification and Background Screening Program positions you to capitalize on Signing Agent opportunities. Your prospects for additional assignments increase with certification and a SigningAgent.com priority listing. In fact, thousands of NNA Certified and Background Screened Notary Signing Agents know that income from just a single loan signing or two will easily pay for an investment in NSA Certification Renewal."
That last part is what really cracks me up, because elsewhere on the page, it says "NSA Certification Renewal, only $79". A single loan signing - or two???? Oy vey!! This means that either they aren't including the total that this would cost me (I haven't paid for any other NNA memberships in a good while), or they still haven't gotten it about what realistic fees should be. But, hey! I wouldn't have to take the course or the exam again, just send them the money.
Gee, I can hardly wait!
