I could tell you stories

It really is a common practice...the title company I use to do closings for...they cut our bonus to next to nothing...and that same week, our boss had the nerve to drive to work in her brand new jaguar...lol. You better believe...those are the ones that never stay ahead...they will get theirs in the end. For the record...no one likes her...I would rather drive my chevy and be liked than drive a jaguar and have people cursing me with hatred.

Well look at the New Boss Show

Can't remember the name of the new show, but it's the boss who goes undercover
and works with the everyday employees. It's really a shame that a boss has to be such
an a$$h#%, they really don't realize that a haughty and proud and arrogant attitude usually
comes back to bite you hard. No one is immune, it's totally bad Karma to treat people like
their inferiors or incompetents.
And it's bad Karma to treat sub-contractors with the disrespect that they do, over-reaching in Trade
can only last for so long, yes they have been in business for a long time, it's unfortunate that
they have taken advantage of this work ethic. There is more to business than being greedy
and thinking that all the money belongs to you. What goes around comes around, I don't work for them anymore either and I feel completely at peace with the decision.

It is called Undercover Boss. Saw it on the Oprah Show. Pretty cool.
I got a call yesterday from them for $70. E docs, 45 minute drive one way and faxing back the ENTIRE package after closing. I figured in all with the printing, driving, signing, faxing and driving to ship package it is at minimum 5 hours of my time, plus gas, which here, would probably come to about $10. All this for $70!
I get regular calls from them and sometimes they meet my fees, but when I get a call like that I actually get upset. I feel offended. I don't get offended easily either. :-)
Somebody did it, though, because they never called me back.
In my market too we only have a handful of notaries and it is extremely expensive here. Gas is still almost $4.00 a gallon, so I don't know who on earth would do that for that amount.
Fortunately, not everyone is like that.
I just don't understand how they can value our services so little.
Take that back, I worked in mortgages for 16 years as a loan processor and underwriter, and I saw greed up close and personal. I am trying to forget those days....:-)
