I received a call last Friday from a local TC for a refi closing scheduled for today. They said they found me here and asked what I charge. I quoted a fee and they accepted without quibbling, then emailed a confirmation within minutes. The closing went smoothly and I dropped the signed package off at their office immediately after the closing this afternoon, saving them the FedEx shipping charges.

On the other hand, I received a call today from a SS who found me on the NNA site. They stated the fee they were willing to pay. When I told them what I charge, they replied that the most they could pay was $15 more than their original offer. Since this was still below my minimum acceptable fee, I declined and wished them luck in finding a notary for their closing. After looking at this company's ratings and comments in SC, I'm glad we couldn't come to terms.

I too received a couple of calls today from this site which I accepted when they met my fees. I also had two calls from LOW-BALL, SLOW-PAYING SSs and told them why I don't work for them. But they call every month, so they don't log my comments.

NR and one other company give me a bulk of my biz. The rest is word of mouth.

Over the top this week. I welcome the weekend, the love of my life is coming to CA for a long weekend...
