I'll pass this along to a fav SS who ate upwards of
$72K. She pays all notaries faithfully every month, sends 1099s really early, and is a joy to work with.
Personally, AQ hung me out to dry on the last dribbles of their reign of terror against Americans, but I'm still here, heh heh heh.
I swear they hired schedulers by fishing in the shark tank. [Just watched that boogie-boarder gal relate her story - bopped that shark right on the nose!] Heh heh heh.

I can't fathom getting $72K into any hiring entity...but I'm pretty small minded like that.

Oh, yeah... a lot of national SS have but a few clients and most only get paid monthly (which really means the check can come 1 or 2 weeks into the next month), so an SS could have 6 weeks worth of billing 'out there' before it hits the fan. And I'm sure they hear the same song & dance we do from time to time, so keep on trucking until....uh-oh. They do make an excellent gross. Another good reason for SA not to go cheap.

Risky business! Remember you can’t keep the gross! Maybe I should rephrase that? Because some SS clearly have, and do keep the gross. In the normal course of business, one is not supposed to keep or spend the gross. However I do agree with keeping your fees I won’t say high, because for what we do for $125 to $150 sure isn’t high. Let’s say reasonable, and consistent. If you charge say $125 to a ‘good’ SS, then take $50 from some low-ball outfit what does it say about you? And how can the ‘good’ SS justify their fee to Title? The low-ball outfit says we can get just as good, maybe even THE SAME notaries as our competition, and we charge less. If you want to stay in business, and want the good payers to stay too, keep your fees reasonable.

They can say that all they want, but I think it's a load of [e-mail address].! I doubt any notary - certainly none here, right? - who has a normal fee of $125 - $150 would ever accept a $50 fee for the same work! Not even close, I'd bet. That's a pretty wide variance!

I know some that have. There is usually a reason: ”It was close” or: “ It was on my way to my profitable closing, and I had the time so why not” or: “It was next to my dentist and right after my appointment so 2 birds with one stone.” or: (my favorite) “They promised me to use me EXCLUSIVLY in this area.” What I was trying to say even though most companies SS, or Title, show no loyalty, we should. We need to keep or fees such that we can make at least a small profit, keep them consistent, and NOT work for these deadbeats, or low-ball companies FOR ANY REASON! The first of the month next to the grocery store or not. They are a threat to our very existence. If EVERYONE refuses their low offers they will raise them, or go out of business.
