What do they know!

I just handled a structured settlement. The individual was in her 30's. She told me she thought I would be some shriveled up old woman. I guess this is her preconceived idea of a notary! She was pleasantly surprised.

I get that sometimes, too!

People see me and they say things like, "You're a Notary? I thought notaries were, like, retired judges or something."

One guy even said, "So is this some kind of stay at home Mom job?"

UGH.

I'm glad I don't get the " did you play football, basketball"? questions but they always ask me what did I do before I retired. When I tell them they say, " I figured you must have had a lot of contact with people".

I proudly say that this line of work allows me plenty of time to spend with my kids/family. I love the flexibility!
