ANOTHER printer question...
I have a Dell laser printer we got free when we bought our desktops....it's the 1110, resolution is, I believe, 600 (or 800) dpi - is that okay for loan docs or do they have to be 1200dpi?
TIA

I'd say it's fine.
EconoMode in various models is usually 600 dpi or 300 dpi, right?

Re: I'd say it's fine.
There IS a difference between Economode and printing at various dpi. To get to where you change the dpi, in the print window > properties > advanced. See the dpi (quality) 'line', click on it and you can change the dpi. How far up or down it will go depends upon the printer.

I don't know about your particular model, but when I had my HP 4050, I always printed at 300 dpi. I always print on the lowest dpi possible, my 4100 only goes down to 600 dpi.

I print at lowest dpi, currently 300. Only difference I see is in less toner use. Quality difference is nil.

Just changed my Brother to 300 dpi. Printed a few pages of a 1003 and everything looks great. Thanks everyone!

Eyeball test
Some of my prior printers have printed just fine when I've lowered the settings, some have looked too light. I just keep lowering the dpi as long as it still looks good.

For text only printing, 300-600 dpi is usually sufficient. Higher than 600 dpi is usually used for full color printing and photo quality.
