Chicago Title
Long story short - had Realtor call me last night to ask if I could do a loan signing this morning for his clients at the Title office - says their notary was out sick). Made a verbal agreement (and he would pay me). 15 minutes later he called back and apologized profusely saying that he just found out that Chicago Title doesn't allow 3rd parties to sign. Just curious if any one knows this is true?

It sounds like he was saying notaries doing work with Chicago Title (aka Fidelity) have to be "Fidelity approved." And it's harder to get on that list than getting a White House dinner invitation (and there's no sneaking in with Fidelity). But once you're on the list, you're good to go (as I understand it). Or you can work for a SS that is Fidelity OK'd and you are covered under their umbrella ....

...yes, and they ONLY use in-house nsa's.
and they are all over the Chicago area, and I can't get in with them at all - and I'm still trying!
There's another Tc right on the corner from me, its a subsidiary of Chicago Title, and the same goes for them as well...so yeah, I'd believe him...sorry...

through a SS who has me on the "Fidelity List".
