First for me today..

I had a structured settlement signing today. I called bo to discuss time etc. go through the do you have an Id talk? He says yes he does and has made a copy for me great we are good to go!
I arrive and he does not have and ID..its in his friends van in an impound lot! Ok..But he has plenty of other papers he can show me..Explained that this will not do..After 10 min he changes his story to "I was just released from prison and I don't have an ID". I excuse myself to make the phone call to hiring entity! I started to get the creeps because he started following me too close for my comfort as I prepare to leave..and I made the hiring company the decision makers as to why I cannot notarize these papers today and made a bee line for the door..He was pleasant to me but when he just started ramblimg about 3 other reasons why he did not have an ID..I ran out the door!

Doesn't sound like there was any reason to stay. I wouldn't have stuck around either. No I.D. = wasted time. I probably would have told him to go and apply for an ID and I'd be glad to notarize for him as soon as he had one, or if he got it out of the van he could certainly call me. LOL

Glad you got outta there!

Prison ID is O K..........as long as he's on the opposite side of the bars from you Smile Glad you made it out! BTW, When I call for appt time, I also ask what kind of ID they're going to use and if they can make a copy of it for me. That will help with the ..No ID issue. MHO

I'm glad to hear you got out of there safely, Claudine. I always use extra caution when dealing with structured settlement signings. Without ID there was nothing else you could do.

Another story to tell prospective

competitors. Recently at a nearby closing a woman expressed an interest in becoming an "NSA" or "mobile closer." This seems to happen to me at about one in every twenty calls or so.

I said that at least half the time the field was full of very good and nice people to work with. While the income was not great, but the opportunity of dealing with people in their own homes was USUALLY a very nice experience and that it was certainly more exciting than greeting folks at public places like Wal-Mart or working a register at a nearby McDonalds. But, it is always hard to tell which calls are going to be the really good ones and the others that are not so good. This line of reasoning seems to lead to a different subject matter and loss of interest:>Wink
