I should probably know this by now but....
Is there a state limit on how much a mobile notary can sign for a single document + travel? I've been a signing agent for 5 years and 95% of my business is refinances...just recently I have received more calls for people needing a notary for a single document. In Oregon, you can only charge $10 per notarial ack...but does this include travel fee? Or is that flexible for the signing agent to set, depending on the distance. I know, I know... this is probably something I should know by now...but I don't...any suggestions will help, thanks!

You probably should know this because it is in you State Handbook. Chapter 4, page 15.

Not only that, BUT...
You should be well aware of how much your notarizations are, even withing the larger fee. I always suggest that you keep the notarization fees separate from travel, signing agent and printing fees.
Why? Because if anyone perceives that you are overcharging for notary services, you SOS will not be too happy with you.
For example, when I send an invoice for a signing (or even if they don't want an invoice, I create one anyway) - I ALWAYS break the total fee down by itemizing the invoice, and my invoices (and confirmations) all state that any reduced fees are a one-time agreement and not to be considered for any future assignments. That is, of course, unless I have a specific agreement in place.

Re: Not only that, BUT...
Wisconsin is by statute $1.50 per signature. Single signature notarizations are not very attractive. LOL
