Notary Pro

Possibly found another signing company out of business: Notary Pro, Irvine, CA. Mail has been returned marked by the USPS as "vacant." I did read in Notary Talk that some people seemed to be having problems getting paid in the past. Any one know for sure if they are out of business like so many others?

Haven't worked for them in years, but their phone # still works. The post office makes mistakes all the time. Recently I mailed a thank you card to our mayor. They returned it to me saying address unknown. Now mind you, it was addressed Mayor __ __. I called his office and confirmed the address. I checked the phone book and confirmed the address. All showed the address I put on the envelope. I saw him a few days later, and hand delivered the card. He just shook his head, confirming that indeed the address on the card was correct. Our post office doesn't even know how to get a simple card to the Mayor. That's pretty bad. And unfortunately it happens much too often.

They owed me $50 for 4 months! Different excuses included: "Was in a pile to be double-checked," "so-and-so was on vacation," and the infamous "we are the new managers of the company and we are getting caught up on the backlog of payments." Then the check was mailed to the wrong PO Box (one that hadn't been used in two years) and then when I finally got it, it was made payable to the WRONG name! I did do some additional work for them afterwards but stopped taking work from them. They were sending me those massive "document collection" home "modifications" and only paying $50.00. They were supposed to be "just pick up their documentation and they sign a few forms and you notarize one document." However, the customers NEVER had the documentation together and ALWAYS thought that they were supposed to START looking for the w-2s and tax forms, credit card bills, mortgage statements, bank statements, etc, ONLY ONCE I ARRIVED!! I sat once for two hours while the family searched for documents, cooked and ate dinner, and then sent their son to the store up the street to make copies of everything! I asked them to take me off the list for those types of modifications. They haven't called me since.
