Re: ROLL TIDE...sorry could not resist.

Congrats Jim, it was a good game last night, I thought that Bama was going to give that game away in the fourth quarter, couldn't believe that Texas came back on them and nearly won because of their sloppy playing in the 2nd half. SEC---4 in a row! Sorry, gotta do this--GO GATORS!!!!! Next year should be interesting, Bama rolls onto Gators schedule for regular season play-they actually could wind up playing twice next year.

In Louisiana, Nick Saban is not so loved. Beat Bama is the

favorite chant of many LSU fans... Along with some other choice things about the coach that are printed on many many LSU shirts... Too colorful to post. But LSU had a sad year.... We were all rooting for Texas. Have a great weekend to all!

Not so loved in this household either for the stunt he

pulled in Miami (Dolphins) before going to 'Bama...very similar to what he did to LSU.

Gotta give him credit though - he IS a heck of a college coach.

I can understand the hard feelings Linda, but u gotta go

where the $$$ and the challenge are. And now I remember why LA/LSU fans have bad feelings also.

I know..and in Miami's case - I don't think he liked dealing with NFL pro egos....he likes molding and forming the college kids into great players...he's really good at that - it wasn't the $$$ that got him, I think- it was where his heart wanted to be - and his wife, if memory serves me - I think she hated Miami.

"hated" only by fair-weather fans - true fans stick it out, see the improvement and know good things are happening..

Now, if you're talking about the City - I have no comment - haven't been there for 3 years and only was there for the games for one season....

Re: I can understand the hard feelings Linda, but u gotta go

Why? LSU went to Oklahoma State where Miles said he wasn't going anywhere in 2004, they threw $$$$$$ his way and in Jan. 2005, Miles was named headcoach at LSU. At least Saban wasn't lured away from LSU by another college team. He went to the pros, didn't like it and went back to college coaching, if the LSU job had been open he probably would have gone back there, but they had just given Miles an extension and big bucks to keep him there instead of going to Michigan. They really shouldn't be offended since they are guilty of basically the same thing, they're just mad because they have to compete against their old coach in the same conference division. Florida didn't take it out on Spurrier and LSU needs to get over themselves.

For sure money is the reason for all changes BUT Nick Saban

lied about going. Told everyone that he was not leaving. For me that was an issue. I have no problem with him leaving LSU, but tell the truth about it... That's all. The kids all trusted him and he went on tv over and over and lied.

ROFL Janet...that's EXACTLY what he did in Miami

stated over and over again he wasn't going anywhere, he was going to continue his mission in re-building the Dolphins, he was NOT taking the Alabama job - then left in the middle of the night!! Here one day, gone the next - with no explanation, apology, nothing.

He's a great college coach, but I have no respect for him for that reason..

It would seem as though LSU is consistant in picking

coaches that say one thing and then do another. Saban told Miami he wasn't going anywhere and Miles told Oklahoma State that he wasn't going anywhere, Saban went to Alabama and Miles went to LSU. Maybe the reason the media didn't believe Miles about staying at LSU instead of taking the Michigan job was because he left Oklahoma after saying he wouldn't. LSU has no reason for the anger though.

Re: ROLL TIDE ROLL - I was there screaming my head off!

We have spent a week out in sunny Pasadena and the game was great. Drove 30 hours to get there (although that was our choice) so I am really glad they won. Heading home tonight so hopefully back in Alabama by Sunday!
