Signin Agent Liability
Do any of you have knowledge of a case in which a notary has been sued (or a claim was made) in connection with a loan signing? If so, what was the nature of the claim?

I can't refer you to a specific case but I believe at least one account was discussed here on this forum in the past. If you haven't already, I would search (orange button) using "lawsuit" as key term. I remember reading about one or two notaries being named in a lawsuit.

A few months ago someone posted that they were being
sued but I never saw what the outcome was. I have been curious too so I hope if a post was made that I missed, someone will fill us in.

There have been no further reports. Either 1. not allowed to talk about it or 2. still winding its way through the system. If still in the system, probably not allowed to discuss (on advice of attorney).

No never have I seen a case of a contract closer being sued. The other examples were planned fraud, not a genuine mistake at a mortgage closing.

Yes Art, friend was sued in CA in 2001 or 2002 ...lady claimed to not have signed anything.
Now the same guy is in TN and just found out he is being sued again, I do not remember recent details, but it happens.
