Something interesting

They say you learn something new every day.
Only notary seals I see in Florida are black. But today I needed a Medallion Signature Guarantee. The seal was bright green. I often wondered what one looked like. It also has what appears to be a "bar code" on the bottom of the seal.

Green in Arkansas, too. Must be some federal thing, ya' think?

Got to be a federal thingSmile

I often wondered what a medallion notary's seal looked like.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could have different coloured seals instead of the boring blackSmile

Kind of a federal thing. The Medallion Guarantee program is administered by Kemark Financial Services, Inc. in New York. The seal must be a special ink which is colored green and has some tamperproof parts, such as a bar code and some other coding.

You can read about the program (and why a notary public doesn't do it) at http://www.pawnotary.com/documents/Medallion%20Signature%20Guarantee.pdf

I used to have my securities license. This type of seal is used for certain paperwork for investments (i.e. securities).
