Speedy Closing vs REO Land Services
Both closings were done in early August... Who will pay first? Any bets?

I turned a Speedy Closing away because of reports here on NotRot. Hopefully you will be paid!

Did you send Speedy an invoice the 1st of the following month? Call Ron @ Speedy & he'll make sure you get paid.

Did you send a follow up invoice?
As was mentioned above, I think if you sent a follow up invoice, you may get some luck.
They have in the agreement that the invoice must be sent at the end of the month for the closings of that month (if I remember right.) I think it further goes on to say that that's the procedure and may (will??) not be acknowledged if received before...something along those lines...
It ALSO says (if this is the right company) that you only have 60 days (give or take 30...tee hee) after payment to address any discrepancies in the pay.
NOW! With that said, I did a closing (the 1st with them) on the 23rd of Sept and didn't receive the check until the 12th of December. So maybe that's they're pay cycle? Net 90?
It just so happens that they called me for another closing the night I received the check. However, on this one, they offered me a little less than I normally get and I took it letting them know that if the package was big, I would like my pay adjusted (I try to always ask how big the package is when taking less than my normal fee. If it's a fairly large package, I won't settle for any less than my normal. They assured me "no problem." When I received it, it was large-of course it was last minute--MY advantage. I called them right away, letting them know and they said, oh no problem, we'll adjust it. The owner also profusely apologized saying he honestly didn't realize how big it was.
I hope I have no problems, afterall this is only my 2nd closing with them. I did it, in good faith, knowing that it's net 90 though.
So if you need payment sooner than 90 days, take it into consideration when working with them.

No reason for net 90 days on paying notaries
The loans fund within 5 days - they have your money in hand - 90 days is ridiculous and unnecessary..

I hear ya....No reason for net 90 days on paying notaries
I know, I know. I was expecting to hear that...tee hee...
But unless I desperately NEED the money, I don't mind. Not sure why, but it's just how I feel.
I also realize that it's more about the PRINCIPLE of the thing. Afterall, they're making interest off my money.
Thanks Linda

I want to see you call a plumber, electrician or any
other independent contractor YOU may need then tell them "I'll send you your check in 90-120 days"... that's ridiculous..

I did one for speedy but payment didn't come as promised. He call again for a signing and I told him he had yet to pay me for the last one (two months) I did. He apologized and I received a check three days later.

Trust me, I've been in constant contact and multiple invoices have been sent with both companies. I've turned down signings from both in the last week as well. Frank w/ Speedy has given me "ck was mailed" 8 times. Not much more i can do but sit and wait.

I worked for Speedy Closing when I lived in NY. Pay was slow sometimes and sometimes payment "fell through the cracks" so to speak. However, if I asked when I called for payment Frank would send payment via PayPal. I think it cost me $3.00 or something like that but at least you will have your money right away and you would know immediately if it is sent. It is better than the check is in the mail. Ask him to do that.

We get the treatment that we will tolerate.
I find 90+ days to be soooo unacceptable., unreasonable and downright piracy on hiring entity's part. But I do now understand that many will tolerate it--which makes it an acceptable business practice for these slow-paying companies. No wonder they thrive!
Altho' it really doesn't make a lot of difference to me as to when funds are actually received because if the pay pipeline is full, something is always coming in. Still, I can think of no other business in the world who accepts this (besides Abstractors/Title Searchers--who seem to be in this leaky boat with us). If 90 is acceptable, how about 120, 180, a year?

Walmart, McDonalds, Taco Bell.....they pay every two weeks. I'd work there before even considering accepting net 90.

Re: We get the treatment that we will tolerate.
I have worked for Speedy 2 times. It took a lot of calling and emailing to get payment from Frank. Several emails from him stating "ck cut will send this week" 2 weeks after that "Ron...can u look into this for me?" a couple weeks after that " sry ck sent today" a week after that one "ck will be sent end of week" If their pay police was 45-60 days and you know this up front, OK. but to hear lame excuses over and over again, and it takes 90+ days that is unacceptable!! I will not work for him again!
