TITLE COMPANIES vs. SUB-CONTRACTORS
Does anyone know if working directly with a TITLE COMPANY pays more than dealing with sub-contractors like Nations Direct??
Thanks in advance for your response.

Thanks Jim. Do you have an idea on avg what that difference is? I have a friend who says she makes around $250/signing which I'm assuming is with a title company because I have worked with signing companies and generally make around $150/signing. Does this difference seem "about right" to you Jim?

TC pays Notary or TC pays sub-contractor who then pays Notary.
Very basic.

Hate to sound like a broken record....but...
are you an attorney? Because if you're not, you can't do loan signings in GA...so it doesn't matter.

I've never worked for Nations Direct but I've heard they offer $60 per job (not sure if that includes edocs or not). This is less than half what I charge and get from other companies for a closing with edocs.
Since you are in GA and must be an attorney to conduct closings, I would assume the fee would be higher than $60.

Rumor has it that Nations Direct normally charges Title Companies a $150 closing fee. They pay the Notaries whatever they can, or must, and keep the difference. EXCEPT in Attorney States, there they charge more and pay more. I don’t know your location, but some GA attorneys charge as little as $175. Some $275 and up depending? Or so I’ve heard.
