e signing - need thread or message #
today I rec'd a call from ND to do an e signing.. The fee was too low so I declined (actually they told me "we'll get back to you". I have never done an esigning and I need more info. Also, when you have to take your laptop to the borrowers, do you charge more for that service?

If you use the orange search button I think you will find many discussions on the subject.

I just did a quick search using
the word "esign" only...came up with several threads...
Try things like "e-sign" or "esignings" or "e-signings" or "electronic signings" "AmTrust" "e-signing requirements" etc. etc..
Good Luck

There was a discussion recently regarding Amtrust online training for esignings. Find that - it will help as most say it is very definitive. Good luck.

Is AmTrust still doing that?
I know FlagStar is doing the webinars....but I watched the video walkthrough and question some of their procedure...but another discussion for another time..
Just didn't realize AmTrust was still doing them.

Well, now that I have done some searching - I don't know.
Message #315675 posted 12-24 by Jim/AL was touting how easy they were and having just done one, etc. and went on to say their website has great info, training. But you have posted that Flagstar is now the new owner, so I may have spoken out of turn here. My apologies for only half a mind tonight.
Again, no 40 lashes with a wet noodle - send 40 noodles. If enough do, I can have a terrific lunch.

No no no...didn't say that
Just wasn't sure if AmTrust was still offering e-training....apparently there are no webinars scheduled (I went and looked) but their training material is still accessible (just google "amtrust webinar" ...
FlagStar does offer webinars on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons but I've not gotten to those yet. I watched the tutorial there and their procedure leaves me with some questions - e.g. there's an option during signing where the borrowers can opt out of signing electronically and choose to sign ink signatures - which to me means we need to be capable of spontaneous random printing. Do we all walk around with laser printers in our pockets? Is that a requirement of theirs along with laptop, aircard, etc., etc...there was another question I had but can't remember what right now (knew I should take notes)...
Anyway..that's what I meant.

Linda
I can answer FLAGSTAR ?? - I have DONE 100's
1 - you cannot opt out on Flagstar e-sign, it is either paper docs or e-sign. not both. And docs are not alike. So borrower needs to know in advance and has to be in agreement to one or the other NOT BOTH and cannot change their mind and notary cannot change it either. 2 - we always set up the docs in advance for INK signing on Flagstar. They are always the same: DOT/mortgage, RIDERS, NORTC, 4506 and Name affidavit. In some cases, the TIL, but this is not often (non bor spouse whose name was left off docs) 3 - I had a video and loan simulation if you are interested. 4 - we do not require aircard/laptop, sometime they just will not work with signing location.
email me if you have any other any questions.
