foreign currency
Are you aware that when you order software on the internet the company you are ordering from may not be in the US. And you may have a currency exchange fee show up on your credit card. In addition to this some companies are adding a monthy fee to your card for a service or update charge. I am told this fee is usually $9.95 per month.

I ran into this when I ordered a gift for my husband
a DVD set - found a transaction fee on my statement and called - it was a currency exchange fee - I had no idea I'd ordered the DVD's from CHINA!!
Haven't seen the monthly fee yet, though.

I'd watch to make sure the DVD is authentic. Look for the authenticity seal on the package. About 90% of music and movies in that country are pirated.

I'm wondering if the "currency exchange fee" is from the credit card company, and not from the company you are ordering the product from. I didn't pay a currency exchange fee, but got a real surprise when I ordered a special gift from my brother (came from Italy). After I placed the order online, I thought to myself--OMG, I hope that was in $$$$. It wasn't--it was in Euros--and ended up costing substantlly more than I had figured on. It was my ignorance that I ended up paying for--not a trick by the company. I laugh about it now.
