What are your opinions about belonging to the National Notary Association? Is it beneficial or just another way to get my money? Looking forward to your thoughts....

We're not really laughing at you... but the roar you hear

is the sound of notaries reading your first sentence.

Let's put it this way -- the NNA is not very popular around here. Some people hate them, others are neutral... others are long time members and few issues with them.

I'm one of the neutral ones. I let my membership lapse last year and I won't be renewing. While I feel they've done a few good things for our industry... they're also really overbearing and annoying marketers and they have a history of giving out bad advice.

That said, I asked for CASH as part of the class action lawsuit that was posted last week here. They are settling a lawsuit in conjunction with complaints that they violated federal law. I didn't want the $52 membership credit with them that they were offering, so I opted for cash.

It really does help to use the search button first... you'll hundreds and hundreds of hit. Also search for "XYZ" -- which is what a lot of people call them here.
