Interestingly yesterday I signeda loan for a Regional Supervisor for Verizon. He says the company is focusing strictly on how much money they can make by selling "plans" to people who have to have the latest and greatest technology. The idea of the device being primarily a "phone" is falling by the wayside, with people playing with all of the "free apps" and insane texting practically every second of their life. He says these people have monthly cell phone bills that are quite often $300 to even $400 a month! I just want the thing to be a phone to receive calls. Unfortunately , my "simple basic phone" also takes pictures, videos, plays music and a bunch of other garbage I never use. But it seems to be all about making the bucks - or more succinctly, taking YOUR bucks.

I would venture to say that the younger people are the ones with the huge phone bills. I can see that by my 24 year old daughter. Honestly, there are a huge number of free apps. I just downloaded a bunch for when I go to Maui. I can play the games on the plane. An unlimted data plan is just $30/month. I added 250 text messages for just $5. Also, I am saving the $10 month for VZ Navigator. Also, There are tons of FREE ringtones and wallpapers! FREE is good!
