FLEX a.k.a. Richmond Title

I have worked for them for over 4 years. No big issues until lately. They meet my fee of $125 for local regular refi's (more for HELOC and VA's) Their payment times are pretty consistent. I receive payment about 35 days out.

I did have trouble with one of their schedulers, "Frank", that always wanted to offer lower. He finally put a note in the system and now does not even bother to ever mention the lower fee offer any longer. A new one, "Kim" is beginning to offer the lower fees now but eventually (after getting approval) accepted my fees.

One BIG issue I have with them is on a signing scheduled last week. Docs were late, I agreed to work with them, then 3 hours after original scheduled time (it was a NERIS title loan) the loan was canceled because I noticed that, according to the HUD, the BO was to bring $5K to the table. He had already told me that he was not supposed to bring anything to closing. I contacted the BO to let him know what the HUD stated so that he could contact the LO to get it straightened out before I printed and drove out there.

So I saved them a print/travel fee for a no-sign. How did they reward me? When the loan closed 2 days later they gave the job to another SA to close it for less. The borrower called me the day of the closing to tell me they had to change the times again (he thought I was supposed to be meeting him that day, he had not heard from anyone) When I called FLEX/Richmond Title I got a "Yeah, it was assigned to another notary" and an 'Oh, well' type of response from them.

I promise that if they call in the future, they will not like the new fee schedule I have in place for them. They also shorted me on my last job on the larger than normal print fee - even after I received approval and a new confirmation. I overlooked it due to the 4+ years of working for them and this was the first time it had ever happened. I will no longer overlook any fee charges that they are supposed to pay from now on.

Re: It is confusing identifying which company is calling

He said he was Flex Notary SS in CA. It is getting more confusing as we try to identify which company is which and where they are coming from..... example (Service Link vs National Link)
I now have a list to look up a callers. They change their name and location too.

Hit return key too soon. :-(

Flex Closing Corp
31551 Santa Margarita Pkwy Ste A-332
Santa Margarita, CA 92688

As listed in SC (the other "FLEX") -- The name does not appear to be the same as the one Alice mentioned so I am not 100% sure if they are the same company or a new start-up.

This company is not the same FLEX/RICHMOND TITLE -- Plano, TX

Disclaimer: I have never worked for Flex Closing Corp -- My comments were about Flex/Richmond Title out of Plano, TX. My apologies for my confusion. Frown

They can be a major pain in the A$$. Don't even give you time to finish your assignment before calling you looking for the faxbacks. Don't get me started on the "notary instructions." Extra pages of useless crap. If anyone's found a way to connect to their website via blackberry, please post how.

I have had the misforture of dealing w this company recently. NIGHTMARE! They have a web-based system for tracking their closings which I like. However in their paperwork it states that if you are not near a computer to update status (which as a mobile notary I am not often) you can just call in the status and they will update for you. After completing a loan signing for them (which took 2 hrs by the way since cust read every single loan doc- 104pgs) I was required to fax back 15 pgs from pkg to audit my work since this particular loan company (Provident Funding) is very difficult to work with/for according to Flex. They notified me that my pen was too dark on the Title Acknowledgement and that I'd have to re-execute. Annoyed, I re-executed doc w cust next morning @ 8am. Faxed back that page for "approval" at 9am and did not receive call back. I called to find out if everything was good so that I could FedEx docs to escrow co. I got the approval that faxed docs were "perfect" so I FedExed the docs at 10:45am. I then called into Flex to let them know the FedEx tracking# and could they please update computer for me since I was on the road to my next notary. "Sure" she said. Well I then received 3 more calls that day asking not only did I ever fax back that 1 doc to be approved but also did I complete the signing... What? Don't these people communicate. After getting really irritated with the last 2 reps on the phone they said all was taken care of and completed in the computer. The next day I get a phone call that Provident Lending has sent back 2 of the docs because the dates were illegible. AAAHHH!!! "Are you kidding", I have very nice writing, I said. I told the rep that my fax back "audits" were "perfect" according to you and how is this my problem now. I told them that I completed my obligation to them and that they needed to find someone else to complete this for them. She told me that they would have to dock me part of my fee for that. I told her you can have my whole fee if you promise never to call me again. Flex Closings was a pain in the royal butt to work for.

I've done work for them in the past. As far as paying on time, I have no complaints. However, they always try to lawball you and are very demanding (requesting fax back, etc.). However, last signing I did for them they stiffed me for $20. When I complained about it, they first gave me the runaround and then they said they would make it up to me on my next signing. One particular girl I talked to, which happened to be a manager, was very nasty. So, I told them that, based on that experience, I wouldn't do anymore work for them and asked them to take me off their system. I do not reccomend them.
