Borrowers request notarized copies
What do other notaries do when borrowers want either their copies notarized/stamped or make copies of the just notarized docs? I have never allowed the former but have one or two times allowed the latter.

I have the borrower's contact the lender to make the request because without the signatures of the lender, etc, they still don't have a completely signed set of documents which is usually what they really want.

I tell the borrowers that I will tell the TC that they want copies of all the signed docs. Then I put that request in my closing confirmation and also put a sticky note on top of the package for when it goes back. I also am sure to say that I provided the borrowers with a copy of the unsigned docs, however they request a copy of the signed/notarized docs.

Ditto. I also tell them to talk to their LO also so all
parties know about the request. I will not notarize the "borrower's copy" without TC approval, both verbal and written.

No problem letting them make copies of whatever they want. I've never been asked to notarize the borrower's copy before but I guess they can have whatever they want notarized. Since it's no longer part of the closing and I'm now just a notary, my fee is $10 per notarization. Bet that will stop their silly request in its tracks.
