E-Signings
I need a brief update on e-signing. How does it work? What are the differences from regular Document signings?

There's been many discussions. You can pull them up using the orange search button.

E-signings are conducted via computer - yours or the borrower(s).
Some time prior to signing, you will be given access to loan package as you will need to print some docs (2 sets - 1 for borrower(s) and 1 set to return signed and notarized). Notarized docs are still wet-signed whereas, all other docs requiring signature are done via computer.
The usuals are Amtrust and Flagstar.

These are signings that you conduct using your laptop to scroll through documents; the borrowers electronically sign the documents, and you electronically notarize them on your keyboard. There are also usually a number of loose paper documents that you need to have executed.
Here in Ohio, I used to do some of them for AmTrust and FlagStar TCs, but I found the scrolling process slow, tedious and not conducive to describing the documents; I could do a paper package in half the time. Add to that the cost of a laptop air card, and overall, it just wasn't worth it to me.
I know some here have had a more positive experience, but I didn't enjoy doing them.

I agree with you on this one, Roger. I never saw that many come down the road, and it just doesn't warrant the extra expense. Of the two platforms, AmTrust is the easier one. I heard on another forum about a notary that was sent an Ipad by the lender to use & then return. That sounds interesting.

More work for the NSA but usually the same or less money.
Just my humble opinion.
