Equity National

Do not work for company. They load a file that is password protected, once the documents cannot be viewed again, they then call you and tell you that there are documents missing. The first loan closing I did for them, they did not even send me a link that was suppose to be printed. The second closing they stated that there were 3 pages missing. After call the borrower to state that the title docs could not prevent the funding. The borrower told me that they signed 6 documents. I have done two closing for this company and have had issues with each one.....I have been a notary for 8 years and never made a mistake or have had issues with documents, like I have had for this company.

There are other notaries on this site saying that they are a class act and you do not want to work for them. Take my advice don't it is a waste of time and money and they are looking to take money out of yur pocket

Wow! That's interesting. Most of the ratings in SC is 5-star.

Have you considered linking your post to SC?

Never had a problem with Equity National. Their password is the same for all files. They pay me well and timely. Very professional, in my opinion.

They did something similar to me last year. They claimed that I "missed" having a document signed at the closing table, when in fact, in was never in the package. They resent it to me, at my expense made me go to Borrower to sign and return. They did this to me two times. I then did not hear from them. I called to inquire why they haven't called me in awhile and they claimed that instead of being first notary in my county I was pushed to third because I was making too many mistakes. The mistakes were on THEIR END. NOT MINE! They no longer call me.

I have worked for them for about a year. They have always been first class with me. Quick pay and everything.

A little more picky than most others but friendly and otherwise easy to deal with. Totally disagree with your statement that they are looking to take money out of your pocket. They just want a fair shake for what they are paying for. Nothing wrong with that.

When you go to the website to print the documents, click "Save" instead of "Open." Save them to a folder on your hard drive, and save them until you're paid for that closing. They'll probably print faster from your hard drive than from their website anyway. You can open them anytime you want. Just use the same password they gave you in the beginning.

This is pretty basic stuff - are you sure you've been doing loan signings for 8 years? No offense, but I'm just saying.. If there were truly 3 pages missing from the file, you can easily prove that if you have the docs on your hard drive. If that's really the case, you can demand an additional fee if they need you to go back to the borrower's house.

I've done several signings for them. I've been paid timely, they met my fee, and they've been great to work with. No problems with "missing docs" or anything else. It is strange that you've had the same problem twice in a row. I'll work for them anytime. I seriously don't believe that they are looking to take money out of your pocket. They aren't like that.

I just recently signed up with them (actually signed up a year ago, never heard anything from them, contacted them recently to try again). I haven't had any closing with them yet, but I have to say that from my emails with them I was actually extremely impressed. The person I was dealing with, Marielle, was pleasant, helpful, and responsive. And she made it very clear to me that they take their closings very seriously and that they follow up with the clients, the brokers, the scheduling team, everyone involved to make sure that they are satisfied with their signing agents. I LOVE that. I wish more companies placed that kind of value on having great closers. Personally, I'd love the opportunity to work with them.

Go for it, MichiganAl. I've never had a problem with Equity National. They meet my fees (ask for your regular fee, they'll pay it within reason), and they pay within 30 days. I've never had a problem with "missing docs", just be sure to save the docs to your computer, and remember the password is the same as it was in the beginning. You shouldn't have a problem.

Do they still send assignment requests via email and give you 30 minutes to reply?

One of the best ...

I've been working with them since '06, and am always happy to hear from them. They always give a contact, there's always a knowledgeable person available to answer sticky questions, and they expect & pay for professional service. I don't recall them using an e-mail solicitation, Janet - they always call, but could be a regional thing?

Re: One of the best ...

I too have worked for Equity National for yrs. and done 100's of closings for them, know their document pkgs. extremely well and if there was missing docs I probably would have picked up on it. However that has never been the case, the only time I've had an issue is when I get a pkg. from them and then go on the road for other closings and they call me last min. and say we have a revised Hud, but even that is rare, that's only happened a few times.
Otherwise great company to work for, always meet me fee and extra when I travel further distance and they tell me I'm number one to call on their list.
Love working for Equity, but I also love working for FASS, and Service Link and all the other 'tough' companies out there that most of you all complain about.

They're the absolute best! I've done work for them for several years. It's all about understanding the system, which I happen to like. Sorry to hear you had an unfortunate experience with them. A call to vendor relations might resolve it.
