Help! LASER jet Printers!
My HP 3330 died. What is the newest suggestion you all might have for an inexpensive printer I could get?

Are you absolutely, positively, 100% sure it "died"? I don't have an HP, but I know that printers can sometimes do funny things and appear to have "expired." Have you obtained a "certified death certificate"?

I have always used an HP 4100 and they are great! Have had one now for 4 yrs and still running. I highly recommend them becausr they have dual printing and Wireless capabilities. Most title offices use them and recommend the HP 4100 N or NT.

I also have the HP 4100 and 4100 n. They are truly workhorses. I love them and just bought another one on ebay as a backup. I buy them refurbished. My first one lasted almost 4 years and never replaced anything.

I recently picked up a Brother HL-2140 for $69 or $79 (can't remember off hand) from newegg.com with free shipping. Only a single tray, but works great for me since I just highlight all the regular sized pages then print, then highlight all the legal sized pages then print. I think there is a second tray that can be added and seem to recall someone else mentioning they bought one on ebay for the same model before. There are other sites that run sales as well. This site seems to run sales about every other week or so on laser printers of all brands. ----------------------- Tip: If you place tape (masking or black electrical) over the sensors (both sides) on the drum unit you can get a lot more prints out of your toner cartridge. I think I got about 2,000 extra prints out of mine after the toner was supposed to "be out" the first time. I don't know if this works on other style printers, but it might be worth a try.

Moneyman: that tip is the BEST! I really used to be so upset at the amount of toner that was unused when the light came on. I hardly ever change out by comparison. I think Misty or Becca was the original tipster - we owe them many thanks. Nice to see you passing this on...
