Lazy Notary
Yesterday, I was called to notarize documents (Name Authorization and Primary Residents Affidavit) for a couple at a Mobile Home Park. When I arrived, realized this would be a split signing because wife was taken care of earlier in the day. While looking at what the previous Notary notarized for the wife I saw that: • Name Authorization – Incorrect Jurat language • Primary Residents Affidavit – No Notary Language Yes, my fellow Notary just signed and applied their seal to both documents. WOW
After verifying the appropriate language for the Primary Residents Affidavit with the Agent, I applied my Jurat stamp to both documents and completed the notarization.
Very disappointing that as Notary Professionals, we are not consistent with the service provided to clients. Wonder if the Mobile Home Park ever had to record any of their documents, how many would be returned by the Recording Office.

You find that kind of incomplete notarization all the time here in Kansas. There is no education whatsoever required to become a notary. The last time I had something notarized at the bank, the notary failed to put in the date, forgot to write in my name.....and he FORGOT TO SIGN HIS OWN NAME!!
Criminy.

Was the other notary from California?
The reason I ask is that I get called time to time from TC's in CA chiding me for not following the CA language. I kindly remind them that Olympia calls the shots in this state not Sacramento.

Re: Was the other notary from California?
Yes, the Notary is in CA, the Agent said they use this person very frequently.

"Wonder... how many would be returned by the Recording Office."
If the other notary was also in California, I think it would be pretty safe to guess 100%.

Am I understanding you correctly?
"After verifying the appropriate language for the Primary Residents Affidavit with the Agent, I applied my Jurat stamp to both documents and completed the notarization."
You completed the notarization? You mean, you notarized the signature of the wife as well?

Re: Am I understanding you correctly?
