Maryland Closers

Don't forget to stamp your name, address and TPL# on each deed of trust or it will bounce.
This is just a reminder. Some don't know about the new law. What a mess this could be if we don't comply.

Ilene, I did four signings since July 1st. Each time when I was notarizing the Deed ot Trust, I remember you and your warning. Thank you very much for all your efferts and being the voice and advocate of TIPIC in Maryland. By the way, I increased my fee $25 and I had no problem getting it. I fiquired the TIPIC is going to be in demand. I also recevied 3 letters of endorsments from 3 different Title Insurance companies since I put a copy of my lisence in package.

Your advice is priceless. I just got my stamp. I have a closing tomorrow. Are you suggesting that we stamp this information on the deed even if it's not requested? I did a signing on July 1st and fully expected to see it there, but it wasn't. Never occurred to me to put it there anyway.

You need to make sure that you fill out the new form that the Maryland Insurance Administration has issued regarding the new bond. Make sure you submit the form to release yourself from bonding. Also, you need to be in compliance as having a Application of Appointment with the Title Insurer, if not even though you may have been working all along you may not get work. So even though we are being freed from having the bond, we must supply the Appointment letters to the MIA and the Title companies. By putting your information on the Deed without reading the guidelines could be conflicting. Also, only you the notary and the Title company who hired you are the ones who need to put that information on. So this kind of leave the Signing Companies out of the loop. If they take your information and place it in anyway then it can possibly put you in a postion where your information is being used by them to receive compensation so Signing companies at this point for Maryland is kind of left out of the loop. Be Careful!
