Mistook some cartridges in the supply closet...

...for my primary laser printer. Turns out they were for another printer, so I ran out of cartridges. Broke out my last remaining bottle of toner kit refill and filled a cartridge. Ordered another case and a replacement toner kit refill for emergencies.

The refilled cartridge ran out as I was completing my last print job Friday. Case of new cartridges and emergency refill kit won't arrive till next week. Now I have no toner to print with for the two closings scheduled Monday, and no emergency refill kit. Have to buy a cartridge at retail price. Profit margin disappearing fast.

Got to get a light in that supply closet.

Been there/done that. Ouch! But, it only happens once.

Re: Mistook some cartridges - Aarrggg. I need to order,

thanks for the thump on the forehead.

Retail in my town, if they *have* a cartridge, is through the roof.

Hard lesson to learn. And we have all been there. Now the rule is replace the old one and buy a spare..........every time!

That is awful, been there! I have been ordering mine from the same lady for over 5 years--her email address is [e-mail address]. Believe she is in Vegas. No shipping charges!

Is this a Brother printer?

If so, one trick I have is to put a couple of pieces of electrical tape over the sensors of the cartridge, and it fools it into printing several avg. sized loan pkgs.
Also, although this is a no-no, I have resorted to emptying other cartridges of waste toner into one cartridge to make enough to print.

Interesting emergency emergency panic last resort lsat ditch suggestion.

Of course, I ordered a case of cartridges Thursday and ran out Friday afternoon. No way I'm going to get the case in before mid-week next week, so Saturday morning I drag myself to Office Depot to buy one off the shelf, then go to the barbershop.

Get home and guess what's been delivered? Natch: a whole case of cartridges.
