Mobile Signings - Riveside

..Just called me for a signing. Their number on my caller ID is 951-505-1321. I could not find that number in Signing Central, however, I found some signing companies that came close to it. I'm wondering if they are the same as Mobile Signing out of Irvine, or the the signing service in Riverside that has a different phone number listed, but 'mobile' in their name.

She really balked at my fee, so this is probable a non-issue, but just in case she does call back - does anyone know anything about this company?

951 area code split off from 909 so Irvine doesn't look like it's in that area code. This number is either Riverside or San Bernardino.

Just spoke with David Baca of Mobile Signings in Irvine. He told me that he actually owns the name and that they company you are speaking of is Mobile Signings Services. He said he gets calls all of the time from notaries and others trying to collect unpaid bills from him that belong to the other service.

I cannot verify any of this but thought I would just pass this conversation along.

I went ahead and accepted the assignment as she agreed on my fee....now I'm a bit concerned. I hate going back on my word - I did say I would do this - but I also hate working for free.....

I did receive the confirmation email and the company is the one in Ontario...the one that stopped paying their notaries back in April...I think I'll call her back and see what she has to say.

I did PM the last notary who commented on Signing Central and gave him/her the phone number I have.

If it were me, I would turn the job back ASAP due to the poor payment reviews in SC and also the message threads attached to their listing in SC. But that's just me - I've never worked for them myself.

OK .....now James is saying in the thread above that he was paid.....

I've already called and emailed Joy from Mobile Signing and told her I would not do the signing unless I was paid in advance....

James - did I make a mistake?

In situations like this I don't have days, or even hours, to thoroughly research a company. I based my decision on what I saw in signing central and what people responded with on my thread. James - if they were good for you then please say so in signing central - if might have saved me this pounding headache...

Sometimes a headache now is still better than the bigger headache down the road of trying to collect your money.

I gave them 4 stars the last time I worked for them. it

would have been more except I had to remind them to pay me which they did right away (31 days I believe). I don't think I should have to remind you to pay me, so no five stars. I did about ten signings for them over a four month period, two reminders. They met my fees, no hand holding, pleasant to work with, Michael and Lisa were my contacts. This is about all I can say and it wouldn't fit in comments. Sorry, this is the best I can do.
