Yeah, I know the feeling. I was married 39 years.

Three different women, but I was married 39 years.

Let me be the first to congratulate you and Bruce. That is

absolutely wonderful.   Isn't it sad that some couples give up so easily.   Believe me, our marriage has been a wild ride at times but we never lost sight of what was important.  That being our marriage and our children.   It is amazing we were able to stay together because his family and I didn't see eye to eye then nor do we now.  We live such different lives and have different values and goals than they do. Material things have never been our priority (although our son wishes it was lol). Our children's education, getting them through college has been our goal. Now that that is accomplished as of this May, we can finally get a breather financially to be able to some other things for us for a change. Yeah!!

and Hugh, I can honestly say that I will never get married the 2nd time, much less a third time. I know, they say never say never.

Thanks Linda
Bruce is actually my 2nd husband. (A warning never allow parents to pick your husband!!). And we actually had two wedding ceremonies. As I said we will have been together 40 years tomorrow. When we met in July 1970 I was separated from husband #1. Used to take years to get a divorce in England (had to be separated 5 years to apply for a divorce back then). 23rd February 1973 my divorce was finally granted. 24th February 1973 Bruce and I were married in a civil ceremony (regstry office wedding). Then in June, we had a full blown ceremony with family, friends etc. - so we celebrate two anniversaries a year - one in February and one in June - and Bruce remembers both of them, doesn't need any reminders.
